In honor of summer I tried my hand at a very simple STRAWBERRY LEMONADE recipe to quench my families thirst. My husband is a big fan of lemonade and my kids just love helping with any "project" or recipe mommy is working on.
2 lbs Strawberries
1.5 cups Sugar
2 cups Water
6 cups cold water
First wash and hull out all the strawberries
Squeeze the lemon juice from your 6-8 lemons
Prepare a simple syrup. Heat the 2 cups water and 1.5 cups sugar on the stove until all the sugar is dissolved. Set aside when done.
Meanwhile puree your strawberries with about 3-4 tablespoons of the fresh lemon juice.
You can strain the juice to remove the seeds. You can also make the lemonade a little more natural if you prefer.
In a serving pitcher, add the rest of your lemon juice, you simple syrup and strawberry puree, plus the col water and ice that has been set aside.
Serve and enjoy!
