Jagger's 1st Birthday Beach Bash

As I'm getting ready to start planning Layla's 1st Birthday, I decided to take a trip down memory lane and re-live Jagger's 1st Birthday Beach Bash. One of my favorite things to do is plan a party or an event (BSB cruises anyone?), so I was super excited about planning this. We knew we wanted to do something at the beach since we live right there and it's one of Jagger's favorite places. So the Beach Party just seemed like the perfect theme.

Read on for all the party details!

Invitation from Minted went out to family and friends to set the Beach Party theme.

We set up a tent on the beach for the food, dessert and gift table.

The food was a mixture of sliders, mini hot dogs, pasta salad, pinwheels, shrimp cocktail, fruit and veggies. We also had some fresh lemonade and some spiked lemonade for the adults.

For the dessert table, everything was surf and beach themed. We found a ton of themed candy online at the Candy Warehouse - everything from surfboard lollipops, beach ball hard candy, gummy fish and sour worms. We had gift bags set aside for everyone to take some goodies home.

The cake from Hotcake Bakes was red velvet (mommies favorite) and had a surfboard adorning the top sporting the number 1!

We set up blankets, beach chairs and umbrella's for everyone to relax on the sand and enjoy the view of the ocean and the party.

We had a basket with a bunch of beach themed toys for the kids to play with. Anything from bubbles, to beach balls, shovels to dig, etc. Each kid got to go home with a beach bucket with all the sandcastle essentials.

We used two surfboards as the anchors to our photo memory "wall" that showed photos of Jagger for each of his monthly birthdays.

We had to let our guests know the surf conditions on Jagger's 1st Surf report.

On the gifts table we displayed a chalkboard frame with all of Jagger's firsts. Crazy to look back at the things he was into back then.

Our smash cake was a success. If you consider him freaking out about being dirty a success!

Overall, all that mattered was being surrounded by those who love Jagger and that we were!
